Vintage RARE 1950's Calrad DM 400-C crystal omni-directional microphone High Z harp mic w cable

 Here's a unique rarer Japanese mic you don't come across every day.

 You are looking at a very nice early 1st generation 1950's Calrad model 400 C microphone made with an all metal painted body and chrome front grill.

 This was the more industrial looking version until Calrad changed the look a few years later to the classic green bullet design.

 This piece was well taken care of over the years and comes with a very nice hard to find original box. This 400 C has a beautiful original baby blue / green / grey paint scheme and as you can see there is an absolute minimum of cosmetic wear. I'm not sure the color exactly but it has a little of all 3 colors in there. This mic has been cleaned and tested. The element actually still works but the output is so weak it will need a replacement controlled magnetic or crystal cartridge. I would rate the signal strength at about 20% so it just cannot be used as is. This will make a very nice display model in the vintage mic collection as well. There is plenty of room inside for an upgraded element. The label / badge is very nice and the dark cloth screen is free of any rips or holes. The joint mechanism has lots of tension and holds the mic in place perfectly.

 This microphone has a classic design that few other vintage mics ever looked like.

 The cable is in great condition being free of any cracks and works perfectly. Length is 6 feet. There is a chrome plated Switchcraft 1/4 inch connector that is used to operate this 400 C mic.

 Mic is 100% original and solid. No loose or missing parts. I would rate this microphone physically a solid 9 on a scale of 1 - 10.

 Last but not least is the original (very hard to find) Calrad 400-C box that was sold with the mic. It's in great condition and a good place to store the mic when not in use. Great for resale purposes as well.
