I usually roll my eyes at ads that use the "you won't see this everyday" cliché, but in this case it's somewhat justified. I purchased this earlier this year on Ebay as part of an estate sale and got it back to functional condition. The neck, pickups and electronics are from a 60s Kingston semi-hollow Ric copy, while the body is homemade (I've included two photos of the Kingston model for reference). The body is homemade, and judging by the finish and shape was probably done in the 80s by someone who was a Van Halen and/or Jackson Pollock fan. The bridge is of 60s Teisco/japanese origin, while the tailpiece and Kluson-style split shaft tuners are new additions.
Each pickup is wired to its own volume and a 3-way switch. The pickups are rear mounted in a rather strange way, but it works.
Due to the previous owner/builder's decision to glue in the bolt-on neck, I was unable to shim the neck and get the action quite as low as I generally aim for, but it's still fully playable and not just a 'cowboy' chord situation. I've included a video demo to demonstrate.
