A beautiful 1966 Silvertone Model 618 Archtop in Beautiful Natural with the original white pickguard, and Soft Shell Case!
These cool guitars by Silvertone were made from 1959 thru 1968. No dating in the sound hole. It does have the model stamped in there, but we are calling it a 1966, just because we can! LOL... Its a beauty!
The guitar was not played much at all. We think it spent most of its life in the case... The frets are still in marvelous shape and not buckle rash or damage anywhere. No body cracks or top coming off.... The guitar is in great shape. The guitar has original everything from the tuners, nut, tailpiece, bridge and pickguard. Its quite the time capsule of the Rockin 60's!
The guitar has a slight separation at the neck heel. It is stable and doesn't move. See pic 9. The guitar plays great in the top 5 frets then becomes the typical Silvertone that plays fine but will never be considered a low action player. Most of these are unplayable. This one plays as well as it did from the factory. The bridge had been modified to lower the action some so any other desire to lower the action will need a neck reset. I personally would play this guitar just as it is. Its really cool!
The guitar has a 25 3/4 inch scale neck with a 1 11/16 inch nut. The body is 15 1/2 inches wide at the lower bout and measures 41 1/2 inches long in total lenth. The body width is 3 1/4 inches at the neck widening to 4 inches at the lower butt end.
Check out the case! Almost as nice as the guitar. Older but not original. All latches, hinges, and original handle are still with it. Even the accessory box is still with it. Very cool case for your cool Silvertone.
