Here for sale we have a Vintage EY-60 hollow body archtop guitar in sunburst finish. This guitar features a small body, a laminate construction and some rather interesting electronics.
The neck is smooth and easy to play, its gloss finish allowing the hand to move effortlessly and the cutaway giving plenty of access to the whole range of the instrument. The compact body (14.5” at the widest part) feels intimate to play and fits snuggly into your arms, great for someone looking for archtop tones without an enormous jazz box.
In neck position we have a gold-plated humbucking pickup with controls for volume and tone, producing a warm and whole sounding jazz sound. Under the saddle we have a piezo pickup, typical of a steel string acoustic guitar, controlled by a Vintage EQ-7545 preamp system on the top side of the guitar. A three-way switch lets you alternate between humbucker, HB/piezo, and piezo to create some unique tones. In the middle position you can find clear yet warm sounds with the piezo giving you plenty of attack and clarity and the humbucker filling in the lows/low-mids. This guitar offers something we’ve not really seen in others and would be great for someone looking to bridge the gap between archtop and acoustic tones

Aesthetic Condition
Headstock- The headstock looks in fair condition with signs of previous use. On the front there are some light indents visible and markings from previous string changes. The sides are in good condition. The rear has a couple of indents/scuffs near the top and the top edge shows the most wear with indents and visible finish wear.
Neck- There are some visible signs of use to the rear of the neck. There are light signs of indents visible centrally and some light markings from previous playing wear. I feel the neck offers a smooth playing surface and these markings are only marginally noticeable when really looking for them.
Body- The body has some light markings visible to the top of the guitar and some to the rear from previous playing wear. These are noticeable on the darker parts of the finish as they are easier to mark. The sides have some markings with a small indent to the right of the pre amp. There is some marking visible near the strap button and there is now a jack plate on the guitar where the jack hole previously had taken an impact and been damaged. This now reinforces the area to ensure it is stable for long term use.
Condition of Frets
There is some playing wear visible to the frets with them having light indents on the first few frets and slightly flatter tops at the higher register. Playability remains good and there is plenty of fret height to make further adjustments in the future.
Current Set Up
Truss Rod & Bridge- Fully Functional and can be adjusted
Height of the string from the 12th Fret- 2mm each side
Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.
Notes on Set Up-
There is room in the saddle to adjust the action to preference but it currently offers a comfortable playing height in my opinion.
Strings on Guitar- 10 - 46
Electrics
The electronics are in full working order and have had some adjustments made as part of this process to ensure they are in working order for the longer term. The battery clip to the pre amp has a small part broken off so will need an appropriate tool to help open this. The casing for the top right screw hole has also cracked but this is not of concern.
Further Notes
The guitar is in good condition with visible signs of playing wear as noted in the report. A jack plate has been put onto the guitar in place of the standard Jack hole it previously utilised as it looked like this had taken an impact and needed to be secured for the longer term. The electrics have been worked on in house to also make them usable for the longer term. This has been some soldering work. The hardware shows visible signs of tarnishing but it is in full working order and can suit a range of playing styles.
