This is an amazing banjo! This guy was built in Japan sometime in the 1970's. Somewhere in its past someone must have over-tightened the truss rod or something, because the very last fret on the neck where it contacts the body cracked off. The joint is super solid though, and it appears to just be a superficial blemish.

This banjo has great action and amazing tone. That newer Deering head really makes the banjo project. It tunes-up nicely, and stays in tune (for a banjo). It is free from any big scratches or gouges, and is just a really fun, great-sounding banjo to play. It has been well-cared for, and if you are interested I have tons of extras (leather strap, picks, capos, books, strings etc.).

This banjo is heavy, and shipping on it is cost-prohibitive. Shoot me a message if you are in the neighborhood and would like to come check it out and make it yours. It's got many years of great pickin' left in it. Your turn!
Cheers,
Spencer
