About This Listing

I had this body selling alone, but since I have received 3 light roasted maple / indian rosewood T necks, I've decided to turn this project into a whole set. Believe me, I was earning more money in 2019 when I was making bodies most of the times, but what I like about sets, is not only the visual consistency between 2 pieces relic'd by the same person, but mostly because there are always - no matter what brand it is - small adjustments to do between a neck and a body, etc.

Let's start by the first piece, the body. Bought in 2019 on eBay, this is a solid hard 1-pc MAPLE body, 2.3kg, from a luthier based in the south of France, Marseille region. The condition was "CNC finished" and I did the rest; not that there was that much to do. At the time he had some Telecaster routing templates selling to, I had the feeling he was ending his activity. I did the arm cut myself to reduce the weight a bit, but mainly for ergonomic reasons; it was hard to do, this wood is really tough! The string ferrules holes are smaller than those on Guitarbuild and Hosco bodies, luckily I had a set that had been around for a couple off years in one of my drawers. Finished it in Sunburst, and assumed several wood knots. I could've chosen easily to do a solid color, but I like the looks of it.

As I said, I received 3 Telecaster necks this March, and chose one to this project. It fitted nicely, the wood grain on the headstock is very nice; regular C shaped profile, 22mm at the first fret and 23,9mm at the 12th, vintage style truss rod at heel for star screwdriver, however the radius is more opened than 9.5", I'd say 12" or more. The fret level was done and by the way; frets have 2.7x1.1mm (height).

Regular '72 Custom pickguard, vintage-style bridge plate with short wings, 3 compensated brass saddles, Allparts machine heads, vintage cup jack (jack input included), 3-way angled toggle switch (the optional black and the white tips are included), vintage strap pins, one round string tree included in the pack, and 4 70's style black knobs from TAD to complete the set. First time using them, I like the curved / embossed center. This time I haven't included the pots or caps, you'll choose whatever you want later on.

As for the finish, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. If you think you're seeing nitro check, specially on the neck, yes, your eyes aren't lying! The only reason why I'm selling it at a lower price is because the body was a pretty good opportunity, no import taxes, and also because it's a project started in 2021.

Enjoy, and God bless!
