Early 30’s Carson J. Robison

If you have been longing for a vintage 30’s Gibson L-00 but the budget just wouldn’t allow, wait no longer. These rare early 30’s Carson’s were made by Gibson in Kalamazoo to a 00 spec. This one is just flat fun to play, and the spectrum of sound is unbelievable. So clean and so full. We can't resist picking them up when we see them in great condition like this one. The top is sunburst finished spruce. She has been played by a previous owner who clearly had a neck picking style. We think it just adds a very cool vintage vibe to the guitar. The back and sides are beautiful mahogany. The well-broken-in sound that the aged wood produces is unmatchable. You won’t believe the sweet projection out of a guitar that's light as a feather. The neck is mahogany with that deep vintage V shape. It is easy to get up and down the neck with a feel as though you had been transported back to the early delta blues days. You'll note some minor capo indentations along the neck. They weren’t noticeable at all as we played so we left them alone to preserve the all original feel and look. The fretboard is Brazilian rosewood as is the bridge. Neck is straight and the action is very comfortable. Frets in good shape. There are a couple of superficial finish cracks and wear, and small buckle rash on the back, but the finish shines beautifully throughout. These babies were only made for about 3 years, so they are indeed rare. They follow the same spec as the Kalamazoo KG-11 (and as we said the L-00) except they have that unique Carson J. signature. Comes in original alligator case, that's lightly worn. A very sweet and beautiful vintage guitar with an amazing story.
