This is a pretty rare model and a tricky one to research and price. The asking price for ones I could find in this serial number range were consistently higher than $2000*. There are a few YouTube videos of this model or a very similar guitar being played. It's without question a very well made instrument and is one of the best from the Matsumoku Factory.  It's not a light guitar and it certainly doesn't sound like one.

Thanks for looking, please contact me w/ any questions or comments.

*There currently are two other similar guitars listed at a lower price, both have been modified, neither of them displays the serial #, and this guitar appears to be in best condition of any I can find a listing for.

(Below is a slightly revised description from a Japanese vendor listing another one w/ a neighboring serial #)

Product Details

Among the domestic guitars developed in 1977 by Mr. Shinsuke Hayashi, Lucia named ATLANSIA, it is one of the best "PE" series. Especially, this model from the first stage of the PE-1000's. Unlike the PE-R series, the truss rod is of the bread type. The contouring which can be said to be the biggest feature of the PE series and the sharp heelless contour are the first elements taken over to the later PE - R series. It was developed based on the popular Gibson Les Paul and Fender Stratocaster from that time, it has the same long scale neck as Fender and a Les Paul like body shape, arch top / arch top with 3 maple and mahogany layers set together , it has a set neck structure with a deep insert joint embedded up to the front PU cavity, a smooth heelless cut was applied to enhance the performance at a high position which is a weak point of the Gibson Les Paul, (an improvement that was made more than 40 years ago). It is an extremely elaborate and ambitious design that performs beyond the capabilities of any that preceded it!【SPEC】BODY: Maple Top / Mahogany Back NECK: Maple FINGERBOARD: Rosewood  BODY Jacaranda P.U: Humbucker w / Hard case
