Rare hand-crafted guitar of the legendary luthier Vicente Tatay, based in Valencia, Spain.

A long tradition of guitars based in Valencia (Spain), it is a firm of the most recognized throughout the world, it was these luthiers who started the venerated firm Telesforo Julve, the entire school of guitar makers of Japan, left an indelible legacy in the construction of guitars.

The guitar is in quite good condition, despite its years. Superficial nicks, one small non-structural crack on bottom back side. It has been professionally set up by a local professional luthier. New Tusq saddles and nut, neck is perfect, intonation excellent. Action is standard height for classical. Includes original hardshell case.  There is a thin stick-on removable clear film below sound hole, to protect top when playing flamenco. Easily removed if need be.

The materials have aged nicely over the many years, the guitar tone and sustain is beautiful.

Standard 650mm scale length, the neck is on the narrower end of the range, width at nut is 49mm. Very comfortable to play, if accustomed to playing other styles of guitars.

Body dimensions:

  • Nut width: 49 mm
  • Scale: 650 mm
  • Length: 493 mm
  • Width lower bout: 378 mm
  • Width upper bout: 276 mm
  • Width waist: 235 mm
  • Depth: 97 mm
Solid tonewoods: Cedar soundboard, ebony fretboard, mahogany neck, walnut back and sides.

A great example of an almost 60 year old spanish hand-crafted classical guitar.
