This guitar started out it's life without electronics or hardware routes. It was more or less a painted body and neck assembled and finished by Guild in 1981 with no pickup, bridge, tuning machine, or pot routes. At some point in time it was eventually routed for humbuckers, hardware, and a Les Paul style control layout. It's routed and wired with Seymour Duncan JB and 59 pickups, CTS 500K pots, 473K Orange Drop caps, Gibson style tailpiece and bridge, and Ping tuning machines. It has no truss rod cover or holes for truss rod cover screws. It has no back plate or holes for back plate mounting screws. It wasn't drilled for strap buttons, but it does have a large sized hole at the bottom where one button would traditionally go. The hole is similarly sized and tapered like a plastic acoustic end pin is meant for it, but I haven't checked whether or not one would fit. It has scratches and dings not uncommon for a guitar for it's age. It does not come with a case. It plays and works very well. Serial number
EA100401 on the back of the headstock. "Made in USA" is imprinted in the back of the headstock under the serial number. According to my old analog scale, it appears to be just under 7lbs. Judging by the grain, the body and neck woods look like mahogany. All of these uncommon features are why this guitar is listed at $1000 + shipping, instead of nearly $2000 like other S-300's are beginning to sell for.
