It is a six-string guitar made by the guitar maker Salvador Ibáñez y Albiñana (* 1853 † 1917), began to build guitars in 1865 at C / Muela, 23 of Valencia. This luthier along with others like Silvestre Senchordi, Luis Reig and his brother Salvador Pau and Lisart, constituted the manufacturers Valencians of the most important guitars of the 19th century.
From the investigations made by Marian Harris Winspear and José Luis Romanillos
Vega In 1896, Salvador Ibáñez appears for the first time in commercial guides
of Valencia on Ruzafa street and between 1898 and 1906 on Bajada de San
Francisco, and later at number 8 on Padre Rico Street and finally at
number 16 of the street of the Hospital.
Ibáñez made lutes, six and twelve-string guitars and also guitars
with removable neck, as well as the necessary drums for each instrument.
Together to other Valencian luthiers of that time, such as Francisco González and
José and Manuel Ramírez was one of the first to arch the lid of the
guitar; and is considered the first to make a guitar with double
neck or a detachable guitar.
The exact date of manufacture of the instrument is unknown, although due to its
technical characteristics, owner references and guitar dating
above, in addition to the labelling, a fork is deduced between 1898-1905.
This guitar is a living example of the advances incorporated in the construction of
guitars in the early 1800s and showing us the foundations of the current
modern guitar.
One of the most beautiful instruments of Salvador Ibáñez.
