Mr Wu Custom Jazz Guitar, Yunzi/Eastman

In early 2015 I had this guitar made. It took 6 months. I wanted a classical guitar-like neck on a archtop, hollowbody jazz guitar. After doing research and not wanting to spend 10k+ for a US luthier,  I turned to China (I have owned several Eastman guitars that were fine quality). My search led me to  Mr Wu, one of the founding builders at Eastman and later the star builder at Yunzi. I'd encourage googling "Mr Wu luthier" for more background.

I wanted a wider neck than usual and was able to get a 47mm width at nut neck width and a flatter fingerboard, like a classical. I knew from my research that the electronics are weak in Chinese guitars so I put in Schatten 500k and .047uf pots and a real, wound and made by Kent himself, Kent Armstrong humbucker straight from Vermont. As pics show, it came with an ebony tailpiece which will be included. Currently I have a gold trapeze tailpiece on it ( I like the look of it). The tuners are top notch and the wood binding is perfect.  It's a big jazz box, hand carved spruce top, 25" scale, 17" body width, rims are 3" Overall quality and finish is excellent.

I'm semi-retired and play much more nylon stringed guitar than big archtop. Therefore I'm offering this unique, one of a kind guitar for sale. It hasn't been played outside of my home. It is virtually new! The guitar has a woody acoustic sound and a full, round amplified tone ( I told Kent what sound I was looking for when I ordered the pickup).  Continental US shipping is $75 (if you're outside of US, we'll have to calculate shipping at that time).
