This 4x4 passive matrix mixer is great for live experimenting with sound. I used to connect 4 mono synths to it to control their level of effects and panning. You could easily come up with fun audio routing possibilities with this.
I built it from a kit (really easy soldering projects) from here:
As you can see, they are available for $100. Get a slightly used built one for much cheaper from me.
