Here is a very rare Greco guitar dating back to 1978. It is model EG-500 which I believe was the first high quality set-neck LP copy they made in the 70s. These guitars were made in the Fujigen factory in Japan which was also producing "lawsuit" Gibson copies for Ibanez. They are a very faithful recreation of their Gibson counterpart at a time when quality was waning in the American factory of their competitor. Some people even certain iterations of the Japanese Les Paul style guitars to be even better playing.
This guitar boasts a book matched, 2 piece, flame Maple top with Mahogany back and sides. The neck is a single piece of Mahogany similar to Gibson with wings attached on either end of the headstock. The neck is a very dark Rosewood that almost resembles Ebony. This guitar is in very good shape. There is almost no fret wear. It looks like something that sat in a closet for decades. There is some slight staining under the finish by the bridge and tailpiece posts.
All the hardware and electronics are original. It has the very sought after Maxon pickups. I believe they are model U-1000. The tuners are vintage style as found on many reissue LP guitars but say Greco in lieu of Kluson. This guitar is in incredible shape. It does not come with a hardshell case but has a brand new gig bag and will be packed well.
