Vintage TEAC ME-50 Electret Condenser Balanced XLR Microphone Low Z
This is a circa 1980s TEAC ME-50 Electret Condenser microphone. It runs off one standard AA battery that is installed by unscrewing the front of the mic and sliding the battery in. The positive side of the battery faces towards the front of the mic. Please note that the AA battery shown in the pic is NOT included. This mic has been wired for balanced use with a high quality Switchcraft XLR connection. The attached cord is approximately 9 feet long. The element has a unidirectional cardioid shape pick-up pattern.
It has a two-position response switch: M for music & V for voice, where the M position has a flat frequency response and the V position has a roll-off around 250 Hz to reduce “boominess” in vocals. Output impedance (Z) is 200ohms. Awesome old school electret mic in excellent condition for home recording. Includes rubber “battery ring” and case as shown.
