Boston, USA. Vega Whyte Laydie Style R... Takes ya right back to the "Roaring Twenties"!

All Original. This beautiful banjo was owned by Leo Ravenelle. Purchased in August of 1927 when he was 17 years old. Leo was born in 1910 and died in 1991 in Mystic, Connecticut.

Vega was a Boston, Massachusetts-based musical instrument manufacturer that is today most associated with their beautifully crafted banjos. Vega’s popularity peaked from the late 19th century into the early 20th century although the company existed in its original form up until it was purchased by Martin in the early 1970s.

This particular Vega banjo features the highly sought-after “Whyte Laydie” tone ring with a 19 fret “short-scale” laminated maple neck and Vega “Star” logo on the headstock and tortoise plastic binding. The two-piece maple neck has a bound ebony fingerboard with pearl dot and star inlays. Overall it is in excellent condition.

This Vega Whyte Laydie Style R tenor banjo has a 10-15/16" maple rim. This banjo has a very unusual metal "pickguard". I have not seen one like it before.

It does not get much better than this! No cracks or damage anywhere... just signs of wear from use

Check out the pics because they don't lie... like always! The condition is, well, check out the pics!

Shipping quoted is to you in the CONUS, as always... includes the original case.
