About This Listing

This is a brand new piece from Maestro’s Private Collection, started in December of 2015 and completed May 2016. This guitar is as new, dead mint perfect. An incredible combination of Adirondack spruce paired with a stunning set of Cocobolo for the back and sides. This guitar really projects. It is the loudest guitar I have ever played and I normally play dreadnoughts. It also does quite well with finger-picking. I have included a demo video. This beautiful guitar is nicely enhanced with some well done fretboard inlay and a Florentine cutaway.

The Maestro brand was founded by luthier Ho Zen Yong – known simply as “Hozen” – with the vision of offering high quality boutique acoustic instruments for the best possible value. Since then, Maestro Guitars has evolved into one of the leading makers of premium guitars and ukuleles in the world. To get one from the factory takes many months and comes with significant additional costs associated to customs fees and international shipping.

Original Price is US$4675.00 plus customs fees, shipping and taxes.

Built in very few pieces seasonally, each of these guitars are furnished with intricate designs, built with Solid Lining and Advanced Hybrid Bracing, ensuring that each piece is built to its fullest potential.

This particular guitar is a Private Collection Rosetta model, which is a Dreadnought sized acoustic. It is constructed with a stunning, Adirondack Spruce top, beautiful Cocobolo back and sides, and features trademark Maestro appointments such as the Grit
Laskin-style Beveled Armrest, and side Soundport. The neck is slim and comfortably shaped with a nice, even taper. The tone is crisp and precise. Each note is punchy. Remarkably clear and defined for a D-style guitar.

Hozen’s lifelong commitment to making fine, hand-crafted instruments more accessible
began at a young age. His family were the first piano builders in Singapore. Hungry to bring Maestro guitars to the next level, Hozen studied under renowned luthier Ervin Somogyi and underwent PLEK training with the legendary Joe Glaser, who was also instrumental in developing the team’s eye for detail.

Every Maestro exudes a commitment to making fine boutique instruments more accessible. Handmade by a small team of experienced luthiers, all Maestro instruments are built from hand-selected tone woods and individually voiced by Hozen, ensuring that each is exceptional in terms of tone and craftsmanship.
