1951 Gibson L-7 with a double McCarty pickup and original hard shell case.
The guitar itself is very clean and shows no sign of cracks or breaks.
It appears completely original including the tail piece and richly colored Brazilian Rosewood bridge with knurled brass wheels, the tuners and the truss rod cover as well as the vintage McCarty pickup.
The guitar exhibits a solid hand carved maple back, maple sides and three piece neck as well as a solid spruce carved top.
The finger board is Brazilian Rosewood with split parallelogram fret markers.
The parallel interior braces are clean and intact and are fitted nicely to the top without any curfing.
There are no apparent repairs for the exception of perhaps a neck-set.
The finish looks original with finish checking as well as small nicks and dents over the entire instrument but there is evidence of some brighter lacquer at the heal joint.
The neck angle is correct and the guitar plays and sounds great without fretting-out or buzzing up and down the entire neck.
The back is very clean and uniform in color highlighting some of the bubbling and curling character of the wood.
The neck shows some play wear and has a comfortable C profile.
The McCarty pickup is a rare treat on the instrument.
It has the correct 60 degree profile around the perimeter.
Both the bridge and the neck pickup work as intended.
The black knob near the neck has an off position and then toggles between the two pickups.
The two white knobs control the volume of each individual pickup.
The original large screw cord adapter is included with the sale of the guitar as is the original hard shell brown Gibson case with green interior lining and handle in tact.
The guitar weighs 6.9 oz.
1 3/4" nut
25 1/4" scale length.
3.5 mm on treble side.
4 mm on bass side.
48 hour approval on all guitars and amps.
