1972 Antonio Marin Montero Flamenco Guitar
Called the 'Dean of the Granada School,' Antonio Marin has been making master guitars in Granada, and teaching the craft to younger makers, for more than 50 years.
He was taught by Eduardo Ferrer then started his career with Manuel Bellido, making guitars for Manuel de la Chica.
This guitar has a lot of similarities to Manuel de la Chica guitars, including the headstock, body shape, sound and weight. A great, soulful, old school sound, and easy to play.
Standard 655mm flamenco scale length
with a comfortable action of 2.9mm at the 12th.
Beautiful spruce and cypress of a quality that's very hard to find today.
I had a crack on the top repaired by German Rubio; it's now nearly invisible. He then refinished the top in French polish, as original and put on a new golpeador. He repaired two cracks on the shoulder that are a bit more visible, and filled 2 small holes on the heel and the tail block of the guitar where strap buttons were once installed.
The guitar is now completely solid and performance ready. If it were in pristine condition it would cost $6500 to $8000 from a dealer. Here's a chance to get a famous maker instrument for less than half price.
Ships in an Eastman fiberglass case that shows some wear but still offers great protection.
