Late 90s Vox Valve-Tone Model V810. Modded by ToneMan (Don Butler) in L.A.
Here's what ToneMan says regarding the mod:
"I replace all the signal path components with vintage-type parts. I also alter the clip-circuit to accent the even order harmonics for asymmetrical clipping. The better components will also increase the low end."
These pedals are pretty TubeScreamer-ish to begin with, but the mod does everything it claims. Great midrange crunch without sacrificing low-end. These work great in front of a tube amp just on the edge of break up.
