Here we have an early 70's Aria Diamonds model 1820 Jazz style bass with everything in fine working order. The bass is a nice takeoff on a Fender bass style but not a copy. Aria Diamonds basses were made in Japan during the 60's-70's at the Matsumoku factory which was known for high quality instruments and competed with the American market with their copies (known as the lawsuit era). Matsumoku made this 1820 style under the Aria, Conrad and Lyle badges (that I have owned, not sure about others). They were offered between 1970-1974

The electronics include a pair of replacement single coil pickups with original chrome covers over the top, volume and tone controls and a three way toggle. All of the electronics work as they should.

The neck is straight, I haven't needed to adjust with truss rod but I assume it works correctly. The action is super low, fast and comfortable. The rosewood fingerboard has 20 frets, the scale measures 30 1/2" from nut to bridge (short scale). The neck is not overly thin but not a baseball bat, measuring 1 3/4" at the nut and 2 1/2" at the pocket. This bass has the fender lawsuit headstock with original chrome Japanese tuners, closed backed, not like the Fenders open backed tuners.

The body is in very awesome vintage road worn shape, a few dings, some very light scratches and scuffs. There is cool finish checking. The pick guard is perfect, the rosewood thumb rest is removed with screws in its place. The bass is nice and glossy with a gorgeous yellowed arctic white finish. I paid a fortune for a Mark Jenny Jazz body for my '74 fender fretless maple neck that has almost the same finish as this bass. Personally, I think it abounds in mojosity.

The bridge is original and adjustable. The original chrome bridge cover is in place. All chrome is without pitting or marking. She retains her headstock logo, four chrome tuners are original.

Labella round wounds will come detuned for shipping.

There is no case but will be shipped well packed.
