This is a fabulous sounding pair of Marantz Prestige Series 1230 3 Way Floor Standing Speakers. The woofers have been professionally refoamed. All drivers work and sound magnificent. Grills have some small holes. Please view all pictures and blow them up as they are part of the description. Each speaker measures approximately 30" x 12.7" x 15.8".

The Prestige series of speakers, introduced in 1981, were the last evolution in speaker design from the legendary Ed May (formerly with JBL) due to his untimely death in 1980. Marantz custom built a speaker design facility to May's specifications. Ed May utilized a special Anechoic chamber to fine tune the sonic signatures of his speaker designs. The Prestige line is very rare because they were only produced for less than one year. They were the last of the Marantz speakers manufactured in the USA.
