NAD Power Envelope 7140 Receiver - Superb Analog Audiophile Sound - MC/MM Phone Stage - One Owner

Here is one of the all-time great analog audiophile stereo receivers, the NAD 7140 Power Envelope model. Built in Japan in 1987, and with very gentle use by only one previous owner over its 34 years, this is an ideal centerpiece for a quality analog music system. If you do not already know this model, look up the rave reviews on the Internet.

The 7140 was modestly rated by NAD with a baseline 40 watts per channel of continuous power, but the "power envelope" circuit allows it to furnish much more "headroom" power to meet peaks, and thus the 7140 actually furnishes more clean power than many products rated at two or even three times its power rating. The 7140 features a super phono stage with switching for moving magnet and moving coil cartridges, and the FM section is amazing both for its ability to pull in and lock on to weak signals, and rich sound quality. The power amplification and pre-amplification stages can be run separately, and the power amp can be bridged, so the 7140 can be mated with an additional power amp to double the power, if desired. Inputs for CD, and an additional auxiliary component, and in/out for a recording deck, plus the 7140 features a sweet array of front panel controls including bass eq//loudness contour, infrasonic filter, a front panel headphone jack. and more. One minor scratch on the faceplate, otherwise the appearance is very near mint, and all functions are performing flawlessly. You'll be hard pressed to ever find a nicer example of the NAD 7140. A reprint of the original owner's manual is included.
