The price tag may be deceiving but this ASAT Classic is all G&L with no shortcuts. The Fullerton Standard Series offers customers a back-to-basics USA made guitar that is an easy upgrade for any student, gigging musician or pro studio. The ASAT Classic features the timeless layout and pickup configuration of Leo Fender's groundbreaking Telecaster®, and important updates including individual brass bridge saddles and specially designed Magnetic Field Design pickups. The result is plenty of classic cluck, twang and sparkle but with more modern output, clarity, and flexibility.

At the neck the ASAT MFD pickup provides the bell-like tones and touch sensitivity of it's iconic predecessor without the excessive compression and occasional muddiness. It responds well to varying degrees of guitar volume, and depending on your mood can be funky, jazzy or country. Pumped through the Keeley Red Dirt, tones are on the creamy side with lots of harmonic content. This guitar can easily do double duty, and can dish out some righteous blues and rock crunch.

The ASAT bridge MFD addresses the issues with many Tele bridge pickups. There is more midrange and body than a traditional Tele pickup, and overall its richer and more usable. It's got all those twangy, chewy vintage flavors packed in there minus the sharp edges. Add some gain and this pickup becomes an awesome classic rock machine with gobs of overtones, harmonic complexity, and great sustain. It's truly a great lead pickup; more articulate than a humbucker, and enough bottom end to lay down tight defined rhythms. The MFD pickups truly stretch the limits of what you can expect with this type of guitar, without heavily compromising traditional tones.

Standard on all ASAT guitars is G&L's Modern Classic neck. The Modern Classic blends a slightly wider nut width with G&L's Slim C profile, and a 9.5" radius fretboard. The wider nut reduces the chance of string falloff, and the slimmer profile and 9.5" radius keeps the extra width from feeling cumbersome. G&L put a lot of thought into the shape and finishing of this neck, and if any profile could be all things to all people, this one comes very close.
