Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a somewhat obscure microphone made by both Aiwa and Lafayette back in the late 1950's or 60's that was very similar in design to the more common Electro Voice 636 model being sold at that time. This Japanese model was the same size overall but a bit more elegant in overall design.

This is the Aiwa DM-13 model and comes with a dynamic element with omni-directional properties and set at high Z and in excellent working order. This DM-13 has an old school "rockabilly" tone to it and comes with the short original cable in which to operate and the Atlas LO-2B adapter shown.

As you can see in the pictures provided the satin chrome body is quite nice being practically free of any flaws whatsoever. The most physical wear is on the front grill of the mic where you can see there is some small paint loss and other wear. The on / off switch works just as it should and the joint mechanism works perfectly as well. The Aiwa badge looks flawless and the on / off switch works as it should. No issues. The threads for both the cable are excellent but there is issues with the stand threading as it's slightly stripped so I included a vintage Atlas LO-2B on / off adapter to solve that issue.

This mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand. The Atlas LO-2B is a 2 piece adapter. The top portion screws into the mic and the bottom portion screws onto your stand. It then allows you to quick mate or release the two portions with the push of a button. A very practical adapter to have for any older screw on type microphone. The adapter shows typical lite wear but works perfectly.

You'll notice that there is a short 5 foot cable included. The cable itself is pliable and free of damage though slightly stiffer than normal. It has the 2 pin Japanese type connector with a standard male 1/4 inch end connector for most audio equipment.

This mic is easily an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 cosmetically speaking. It will make a very fine display piece if you don't intend on using it..

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my vintage microphones...
