This special Epiphone Signature Les Paul Standard Norm Burst is based on one of Joe Bonamassa's own 1960 Les Pauls. Much like other deeply coveted Bursts, the original was built in Gibson's esteemed factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. While a quick look at the second-hand market teaches us the classic models easily change owners for about a quarter of a million, this LP STD offers the same vibe at a slightly more affordable price. Fun fact: the cherry sunburst finish this model sports has been re-baptised to Norm Burst because Bonamassa bought the original example with a surprisingly clean finish at one of the most well-known guitar shops in the world: Norman's Rare Guitars in Tarzana, California.
The Joe Bonamassa 1960 Les Paul Standard: AA Flamed Maple, ProBuckers & Mallory .022uF CapacitorsIt almost goes without saying that the body and neck are made of trusted mahogany and have been glued together via a long tenon joint. Hook this baby up to an amp and the two Epiphone ProBuckers dutifully give you nothing but that classically warm PAF sound. The humbucker at the bridge even has a few extra windings and besides being a perfect match with the neck pickup, this specific double-coil adds a sweet fiery edge to your solos and riffs. Just like the ones that came before, this Bonamassa signature comes with pots fitted with 0.22uF Mallory condensers but, if that's still not enough, it might also be worth mentioning that this Les Paul includes a custom brown-finished 'Nerdville, CA' case with that well-known pink interior lining.
