This receiver has been tested and is in working condition; however it does have a few issues that need some work to get the unit back in top shape.
Here are the functional problems that I noticed while testing this unit:
- The "Loudness" feature is on and the button is stuck in place.
- The ferrite antenna on the back of the unit has a cut wire. I could not pick up any AM radio stations, so this is probably the reason why.
- When I first turn on the unit, the left speaker I used made some loud static and popping noises. The noise goes away after several seconds.
- Additionally, when I change some of the knobs like the Bass, the left speaker makes a whooshing sound (like wind) as well. When I'm not adjusting anything, the speaker seemed to be working fine.
- The radio signal level light is burned out.
Cosmetically, this unit is in good condition. Aside from some minor general wear, there are a few noticeable flaws:
- The faceplate has a large scrape on the top.
- The ferrite antenna looks pretty ragged
- There are a few small chips in the faceplate paint and wood.
Aside from the above-mentioned issues, I have tested each of the features the best that I could and did not notice any other problems.
