Washburn Rover Steel String Acoustic Travel Guitar, RO10RWC
This sweet little travel guitar is in like-new condition. I bought it several years ago, but have seldom used it, as this type of guitar is more comfortably played using a strap, and I prefer an instrument that rests on my knee. I did bring it with me on several trips where I would not have been able to bring my full-size along. The case fit neatly into the overhead compartment on the plane*.
With a cedar top and rosewood back and sides, the sound is surprisingly full and mellow for an instrument with such a slender body. As is the case with all travel-size guitars I have played, the tone is still a bit more banjo-like than that of a regular-size guitar. The action is great and the full-size neck is very comfortable. The tuning machines are clean and in fine condition. An original Washburn Rover guitar strap is included.
The case, which has removable shoulder straps, is in good condition, although the pull-tab on the zipper is missing (I understand this is a common problem with Washburn Rover case zippers). The zipper works fine, but is more laborious to open and close grasping the zipper head without a pull-tab. That’s why I customized the case with two nylon strapping closures with metal squeeze-clasps. That way, the case can be zipped when traveling, but at other times can be opened and closed simply with the two metal clasps. There is also a chip out of one of the zipper pull-tabs on the front pocket, although both zipper-pulls on the pocket are fully functional.
The total length of the guitar is 33”, and the dimensions of the case are 10”x35”x4.5”.
