VINYL-IZED

VINYL IS BACK-for records I’ve been told.

And Paddy MacDee on BBC-NEWCASTLE just remarked that an original stereo copy of  The Zombies-Odessey and Oracle LP is now worth 400 quid ($600 USD).  I am going to look for mine right now.

And if VINYL is back for recordings, then maybe it is time for it to be back for guitars as well-

And from my VINYL GUITAR COLLECTION is… a 1964 KLIRA “Triumphator” electric guitar MADE IN GERMANY.  An incredible guitar with an ultra-cool case.

The KLIRA Company started in 1887 and stayed a family owned business until WW-II.  After the war, KLIRA and HOFNER joined together to rebuild their factory and business.

All KLIRA guitars were known for their high value to cost prices but more so for their innovative designs and high quality construction.  A quick study of the KLIRA catalogs in the early 1960’s show guitar designs that later were copied by many of the major guitar builders of that era.

This example is their double cutaway model in the “strat” style.  Klira, like most guitar builders everywhere, saw the popularity of the Fender Stratocaster and began to emulate its style.

The hardware was great and the single coil German pickups were very good having great tonal response while also sounding very bright.  The trem system on this guitar is absolutely one of the best I have seen on any guitar.  It works smoothly and easily and the guitar stays in tune quite well.

The guitar is in very good condition cosmetically and operationally.

Comes with OHSC.

This is one you will play a lot.  It is a real player.

And it has been vinylized.
