Martin 00CXAE
All Synthetic Acoustic/Electric Guitar
Here is a real unique Martin Acoustic. Made for only 2 years, the 00CXAE Grand Concert is an all synthetic acoustic guitar. Here's some more info:
The Martin model OOCXAE is an unusual little guitar. It is a small, all-black acoustic electric, apparently made entirely out of synthetic materials (no solid wood). Not only is this OO size guitar small when viewed from the front; it can't be more than about 3 1/2 inches deep.
But it does have a sound hole, and the top is braced with Martin's "OOOX A-frame" bracing pattern. As with most contemporary Martin acoustic guitars, the OOCXAE has 14 frets clear of the body, and a 1 11/16" neck width at the nut.
According to Martin's website, the OOCXAE's back and sides are made of "Jett Black HPL Textured Finish":
"HPL is a wood fiber derivative material compressed under very high pressure, it is then treated with a mar-resistant coating that serves as the finish. It is actually a simulated wood grain or textured design on the HPL material. We find the HPL material to be very durable while still offering a great response."
The neck and nut of the Martin OOCXAE are also made of what appear to be newer synthetic materials respectively. The fingerboard is also made of a synthetic material, as it is also used in the fingerboards of the DX1 and OOOX1. It looks and plays like ebony, but it is apparently also used in some bullet-proof surfaces.
Comes with a gig bag. Don't miss out on this one!
