First off, this bass is 34" scale with 22 frets.
I have tone samples of this bass on Dropbox and I'll send you the link when you send me a message through Reverb.
I bought 2 of these basses from Hohner, in Hicksville, NY in 1978 - one in black and one in white. The white one disappeared mysteriously from my studio, and was never to be seen again.
When I bought these basses from Hohner, I thought they were in the regular product line, and turns out they weren't. They never went into production on these models. They must have been samples sent from Japan to the main facility on Long Island. I've looked for this model bass to show up in the last decades and found nothing.
Looks like this instrument is a one-off, one of a kind. It makes me think that the folks in Japan might have wanted to create a solid body version of the Black Widow hollow bass with the similar body shape, scalloped top edge of the body and the piano gloss black finish.

This bass was used in a recording studio for about a year and then went into the instrument storage showcase for display. It was never gigged.

Clients loved the sound and playability of this bass. It sound beautiful. Punchy with excellent low-end that sits beautifully in the mix. Everything on the bass is all original except for the capacitor on the tone pot.
The neck is absolutely straight, there are no dings, scratches or marks of any kind on the beautiful rosewood fingerboard or the 3 piece maple neck. They're flawless and the truss rod turns perfectly smooth. There is no fret buzz and the only noticeable fretwear is on the 1st 3 frets.

There are scratches on the top of the body next to the E-string pickup, finger smudging of the finish next to the pickup at the G-string and a long thin scratch on the back of the body. There is a phillips head screw missing from the rear cavity cover (its a little short one). see pics.
I'll ship this bass in a very usable 1970's Vintage P-Bass gig bag that is in good shape and has a minor concern with the zipper being attached in one part of its travel. I really love this bag.
Thanks for looking and I think this is a genuine collector's item that plays and sounds great.
