Mr. Microphone was created ahead of its time. First sold in the late 1970s by Ronco, a Chicago-based company that endlessly hawked its assorted devices on television with ubiquitous ads that would become part of that generation’s pop culture. Mr. Microphone was a small radio transmitter that is enclosed in a plastic microphone looking case. All you had to do to use the device is to turn it on and speak into the mic while you are near a working radio. Mr. Microphone allows you to sing along with your favorite song, make fun of the deejay, and evaluate advertisements.
