This is a Conn Connstellation 28A cornet, serial # 874766. These cornets
design gives the player a wide and versatile range of sound.

This model line was first produced in 1955 and made until at least 1969. This is a "late model" 28A that we presume was made sometime between 1960-1961. You can find the 'A' inscribed on the side of the lead pipe.

This horn plays incredibly open, following melodies seamlessly! The first valve slide has a lever-trigger for quick tuning, and you can find a finger ring on the third valve slide. Lever-style water keys with cork-in-cup found on the lead pipe crook and the third valve slide. The lead pipe is one-piece. Nickel plated with gold trim on the slides and valve caps. This horn is made with a Coprion bell, aka a copper bell giving this horn different tonal qualities, slightly darker, than brass.

The main tuning slide has been soldered for a past repair. There are signs of wear, including scratches along the horn and in the rim of the flare. We tried our best to capture any dents on the instrument. This instrument does not come with a case. We are selling as-is from Tom's Guitars in Medford, Oregon.
