About This Listing

Pre War Martin 0-21 1943 – this is an amazing example of a Pre War, light weight big bodied Martin guitar. The serial number indicates that the production of the guitar started in 1943 (finished in January 1944). It has all the pre war features ... scalloped x-bracing, slotted headstock ... which makes this guitar highly desirable.

The Martin "Pre War" guitars, from the time shortly before the 2nd World War and during the early days of the war, are very popular among collectors.
With these guitars best materials, a sound-optimized construction and careful manual work come together and form so unique dream instruments. The number of guitars built by Martin was very small at that time, so that very few "Pre War" Martins are sold today.

The top made of German spruce with its complex harmonics and the extra portion of clarity was only used for a limited number of instruments and only for these old instruments. The back and sides are made of high quality rosewood.

This 0 - 21 is easily one of the best sounding guitars that came through our shop. The sound is mature and perfectly balanced, with present mids, crystal clear highs and nice basses. It is open, and loud and the tone has a very unique character.
It is an amazing example of a cool player guitar ... all you desire.

This one has all the vintage vibe you have ever dreamed about!

It is set up nicely with low action, straight neck (prfessional neck reset) and good newer frets. Perfectly playable.
It has been played a lot and we can see several repaired cracks. Our luthier has checked everything and gave this guitar green light to be played and used for the next decades to come.

It comes with the original case.

All in all, this is a dream instrument that will absolutely delight both the player and the collector. It is also a solid investment, because such instruments are very sought after and have a great potential for appreciation.
