About This Listing

Cort is the largest guitar manufacturer in the world.  They make the instruments for many of the major brands, so there is a good chance you have played a guitar made my Cort if you have played very many guitars.  They also make their own line with their own brand name on it.  What you will find in the Cort brand is features that are above what you would find in other brand's instruments at the same price point.  The MR-AS4 acoustic electric is a great example of that.

The MR-AS4 has a solid spruce top with a solid mahogany back and laminated mahogany sides.   A rosewood finger board white dot inlays sits on a sleek mahogany neck, which makes playing up and down the neck a breeze.  Grover machine heads with black buttons make sure you stay in tune.

The MR-AS4 sounds great as a straight acoustic, but where this guitar leaves other acoustic electrics in the dust is with the electronics.  The Fishman Prefix Plus-T preamp is joined to both a piezo mic and a condenser mic, with a multitude of control options to get the exact acoustic sound you want.  Fishman even includes a user guide with suggested settings for different styles of play.

How does the MR-AS4 compare to brands like Martin and Taylor?  Here is one review I found from a gigging musician who was in the market for a high end acoustic electric.

I looked at Taylors, Martins etc etc. I was looking for a high end acoustic for live gigging. I would never have believed that I would buy a "Chinese made" guitar. The MR AS4 NAT I played was just beautiful. I own quite a few top end guitars. I have aways believed that a guitar "speaks " to you. The action and tone on this instrument blew me away. I urge anyone who is thinking of buying an acoustic with a view to gigging. You MUST check these out. This cost me A$ 800 and as far as I can see was a bargain. The shop owner told me the guitar retails for A$1400, that dosen't matter it's the absolute dogs bits!! It has inspired me to play as much as possible. I can't put the Fu****g thing down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why buy a refurbished guitar?

I specialize in manufacturer refurbished guitars and basses because I believe they are a tremendous value.  These instruments have actually passed more quality tests than those that go straight from the manufacturer to a music store.  These instruments do not have major flaws, they have had a minor issue such as a slight finish blemish or perhaps an electrical issue such as a loose solder joint.  I buy my guitars and basses from the largest, and in my opinion the best, refurbishing center in the country located near Nashville.  They are staffed with factory trained luthiers who take great pride in the products they put up for sale.  Each instrument must pass 5 tests before it is released for sale.  Some of the models are discontinued and have no issues at all.  Each instrument is stamped used and issued a new serial number.  This is to prevent unethical retailers from selling these instruments as new rather than refurbished.  I live close enough to Nashville that I travel to the factory and pick out my guitars myself.  I play each one prior to listing it for sale.  You can be assured if I would not be proud to give it as a gift, I will not take it.

The pictures in my listings are ALWAYS of the actual instrument that is listed, I never use stock photos for a refurbished instrument.  If I know why the instrument was sent for refurbishing I will put it in the listing, however many of them are rated NVR, which means no visible repair.  Please email me with any questions you have, you will find that I give very detailed answers.  I am a musician first, and that drives my choice of instruments to sell and the detail that I give in answering any questions.

Thanks for looking!
