Up on the auction block we have a wonderful 1954 Gibson A50 Mandolin. All original condition except for the tuning machines. The beautiful sunburst finish accentuates the Sitka Spruce Top as well as the flamed Maple back and sides. A pearl dot inlay resides in the Rosewood fretboard. The frets show some wear but still have a lot of life left in them. The Mahogany neck has wear mostly in 1st position as a thumb grove can been seen right behind the 2nd fret. The bridge is original but has been altered. It was made to fit flat across the entire top, so a small piece of mahogany has been added to the bridge. The ensures that the saddle portion of the bridge will not lean too far forward when set up with good action. The body shows some wear and tear but this mandolin has been completely set up and it ready to play. Includes the original HSC.
*Cosmetic damage to top, back, sides, neck and headstock (all pictured). Tuning machines have been replaced. Bridge has been altered to seat flat across entire top*
