'62/'63 Journeyman Stratocaster

Original Fender design in concert with modern appointments and a custom Journeyman Relic® finish make the Limited Edition ’62/’63 Strat® a timeless one-of-a-kind tool for players, pros and collectors alike. Created in the Fender Custom Shop, this road-worthy stage companion features Custom Shop hand-wound ’60/’63 Strat® pickups, which are wound to the exact specs from those formidable years that burned the Stratocaster into the history of music forever. A combination of features from this transitional period are wide 12th fret dot spacing, pickguard screw spacing and a reverse round-lam fingerboard.

This guitar has been specially upgraded to a 1-Piece Ash Body sorted for lightweight wood and weighs 7lbs, 9ozs.  Other upgrades include the Transparent Seafoam Green finish and a Vintage '60s Relic Tremolo Arm. It also features a nitro lacquer Journeyman Relic® finish, while the tinted rift-sawn maple neck sports a 60-Style Oval “C” profile, reverse round-lam maple fingerboard, 7.25”-9.5” fingerboard radius and 21 narrow tall frets. Vintage modified #2 wiring with tone-saver treble bleed gives the player ability to roll off volume without losing delicate highs. Other features include five-way pickup switching, vintage synchronized tremolo and tuning machines, bone nut and wing string tree with metal spacer. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

Journeyman Relic Finish

-Used but not abused.

Handed down or changed hands through the years, but mostly played around the house, with the occasional jam session or weekend gig. Has been well taken care of over the years but has finish checking, some “friendly” down-to-the-wood nicks and dings, dullish hardware, and moderate playing wear, a very lucky find.
