JamHub BedRoom Silent Studio for Up to 5 Musicians
Unit is in great working condition and includes original box, power supply, manual and quick start guide. åÊFeatures 5 different instrument (stereo/TRS) and Mic/Line (XLR) inputs, and each "wedge" has it's own mixer so that every musician can adjust his/her own mix. åÊNote that plugging in mono instruments to the 1/4" jack requires a mono-to-stereo adapter (these are not included--and were not in the box when I bought it), which can be in the form of a plug or cable (TS on one side, TRS on the other)--these are readily available from electronics/audio & music stores for a couple bucks each. åÊOtherwise, input from a stereo device (e.g., drum machine, keyboard, mobile device) or mixer would come in as a stereo signal to the 1/4" plug from the headphone output on that device. åÊMics (or guitar signals via a DI box) can plug straight into the XLR ports and can be treated with a range of onboard effects (reverb, delay, etc.). åÊSections 1-4 each have their own color. åÊSection 5 is at the back of the device and is intended to be the recording mix, which can be monitored at position #1 with the flick of a switch. åÊBut it can also be used for a fifth musician. åÊI bought this item to demo because I think it's a fabulous idea and really cool piece of kit. åÊI've tested it thoroughly and everything is in working order. åÊYou do need to carefully adjust the gain on the inputs and the levels to ensure minimal noise and a proper mix. åÊThe build of this item is also really good--seems to be a thick solid rubber exterior. åÊAs a design there's really nothing like it and the layout and colors make it very easy. åÊSome have used it as a hub for stage in-ear monitoring as well (everyone wants to hear more of themselves), finding it to be an inexpensive alternative to other monitoring solutions--check YouTube for more info. åÊUltimately, I'm selling it because I don't really need it in my studio environment, but I would totally keep it if I lived in an apartment building, dorm room, etc. and needed a good way to play relatively silently with others. åÊIt's also just a cool mixing solution if you don't have one. åÊAnd one more thing, evidently JamHub recently shut down operations, so this item is no longer in production despite it's elegantly filling a unique need in the marketplace. åÊThese are going to be hard to find, and I think sought after, for a while.
From the manufacturer:
Practice makes perfect, and JamHub studios let you practice more often in more places than ever before by removing the need for loud amplifiers or speakers. Our unique silent rehearsal systems bring the joy of full stereo sound to every player, with the mix and volume that they need to play their best.
FOR 5 MUSICIANS. 5 XLR INPUTS, 5 - 1/4" INPUTS, AND 5 UNIQUE 1/4" HEADPHONE OUTPUTS.
