Les Paul Custom / Cort / Traditional Series / GE27VD / Double Cream / Set Neck

A delicious and nutritious vintage Les Paul Custom from Cort. This guitar has been screaming since it was built in the 1980s. 

It's got everything you want out of a vintage Les Paul Custom at a fraction of the cost of a vintage Gibson. 

This one is also more affordable than the other vintage Asian alternatives. Higher end, set neck, and ornate models from Tokai, Greco, and Ibanez are all going for north of 1k these days.

And for good reason! A vintage Asian Les Paul can feel amazing, play great, and sound awesome. This one sure does. 

Cool fact: that 80s Greco listed for 1.2k on Reverb that you've been keeping an eye on? Excellent chance it was made by Cort. Cor-tek (the Korean factory making Cort) had a Greco manufacturing contract in the 1980s. 

There are no "deal breaker" cosmetic issues, but there is plenty of honest play wear. I'm selling the guitar on consignment for one of North Carolina's finest tube amp technicians, and it's been a steady gigging guitar of his for more than two decades. You'll notice swirling in the finish, nicks, dings, impressions, and clear signs of the guitar earning it's paycheck.

Bolt-on Les Pauls are for politicians and door-to-door salesmen. Quit wasting your time. Set neck or be damned.

The neck joint on this one is Gibraltar solid, and the neck itself is a full C. Little more heft than a "slim-taper" 60's profile from Gibson, but not nearly as substantial as a 50s style neck. Comfortable, and therefore, fast. 

The guitar has also been capital S Serviced. Mini-pots have been upgraded to full size CTS. Pickups are original because they sound incredible. And double creams: the best looking set you can get, imo. 

While the pots were being upgraded the frets had a full level, crown, and polish. All of the work was done by the in-house tech at SoundPure here in Durham, NC. If you're not familiar give them a visit. They're a great shop servicing the needs of pros around the world. 

Some cool things to notice: the headstock inlay! Also the binding situation is pretty insane. We've got 7 ply on the top, 5 ply on the back and headstock, and a fully bound neck.
