With a heavy heart I've decided to let go of Stumpy, an amazing Fender Jazzmaster with a '66/'67 body that has been lovingly and professionally restored by OSG friends and refinished in Desert Sage (nitro finish) by the legendary Doug "Fullerplast."
This body has a very rich history and is an amazing example of fine craftsmanship and ingenuity. This vintage Fender CBS era alder body once had its horns sanded down. It was famously restored to its current state by grafting custom made alder horns and carving them precisely to match the contour and bevel of the body's exact specification (you can find the history of this restoration thread on the OSG forum). The body has been in its current restored state for a many years and is absolutely perfect in every way!
The Desert Sage refinish is stunning and has already begun wearing in all the right places. A small amount of forearm wear is just barely through the top coat and behind the bridge picking/ strumming marks are present. All honest wear! This guitar has been loved over the years and played/ upgraded accordingly.
Highest quality components meticulously sourced throughout the build; featuring:
- New USA NOS Fender Thurston Moore neck in near mint condition. Sourced from Stratosphere. This neck has a June, 2012 date and was never used at the Fender factory. I bought it new from Stratosphere just 2 months ago. The neck features: Rosewood Fingerboard- "C" Shape- 7.25" Radius- 21 Medium Jumbo Frets- 25.5" Scale Length - 1.650" Width at Nut (41mm)- Nitrocellulose Finish over the flat black headstock. Neck serial number and Thurston Moore signature are featured on the back (see photo).
- Lollar JM pickups with staggered pole pieces deliver classic and powerful Jazzmaster tones.
- Kluson deluxe branded Pre CBS style tuners.
- "Workoffire" custom made 9-hole black anodized aluminum guard (rare). Modeled directly after an original '59 aluminum guard.
- Mastery black bridge + vibrato, from the first production in Jan, 2016. Mastery string tree too!
- Emerson 500k pots and vintage shielding tubs. Rhythm circuit functions flawlessly and sounds amazing!
Thanks for checking this out, this guitar is amazing and I will miss it dearly. Truly one of the best sounding and playing Jazzmasters I've had the pleasure to own! Only selling to fund another Jazzmaster restoration project.
Will ship very well packed in a gig bag for safest delivery to you, please do not hesitate to ask any questions.
