Up for sale is a guitar that was bought directly from AVA's David Kennedy. The guitar is an original Tom Delonge Gibson Custom Shop guitar. The guitar was purchased from David through Tom Delonge's wife's app called Reissue. The guitar was purchased through the website and gifted to me in July of 2014. David enclosed a signed letter as well, along with his coffee company's logo (James Coffee Co.)
If you know Blink or AVA, you know that a) Tom and David are very good friends from high school. It's presumable to believe that the guitar was probably gifted by Tom to David for use in AVA. b) Tom and David love to grossly spray paint their guitars.
The guitar was originally spray painted a horrible paint job (crude, thick, flat gray spray paint, uneven drips, etc). I had the guitar stripped and refinished by a guy named Krishna Jain in Boston, MA. Krishna had fame in Premier Guitar mag. He did a very good job salvaging the guitar's finish, while maintaining it's roots as a Tom Delonge Custom Shop model. I choose to go with an old school Gibson color called Ember Red.
The guitar is in excellent shape and is stock to its original parts, including frets. I have pics of the guitar's old finish as well. I also had the guitar checked out by famed Fran Ledoux in Cape Cod (a great luthier).
The guitar has no issues with the neck, frets, pickup, etc. It plays great and stays in tune very well. There is no tone knob; just a volume knob. If you like Tom Delonge and want a true Gibson Custom Shop model with a history of playing on the road, then this is the guitar for you. The action has been set low and there is no buzzing. The guitar will be shipped with it's original case, the guitar, the letter from David, and a receipt of the work done by Fran.
The guitar comes stock with its original Gibson Dirty Fingers pup, Nashville TOM bridge, and Grover locking tuners.
