Here's a Hohner Marine Band Harmonica (key of C) that was owned and played by legendary blues harmonica player, Paul Butterfield. Butterfield gave it to late Detroit musician Kevin Kalnasy after a show in 1973, and Kevin had kept it in storage all these years and never played it once (read the full story, written by Kevin before he passed in January of this year, in the images section). I am selling this on behalf of Kevin's surviving wife. While this item does not come with any sort of official stamp of authenticity, I know Kevin's wife is one of the most genuine people on the planet and would be happy to answer any questions to the best of her ability.

Taken from a past auction listing of another harmonica that had belonged to Butterfield:

"Hohner Marine Band Harmonica is widely considered to be "the" blues harmonica and is one of the most popular models from Hohner and an important instrument in early 20th century American Blues.

Paul Vaughn Butterfield (December 17, 1942 - May 4, 1987) was an American blues harmonica player, singer, and bandleader. After early training as a classical flutist, he developed an interest in blues harmonica. He explored the blues scene in his native Chicago, where he met Muddy Waters and other blues greats, who provided encouragement and opportunities for him to join in jam sessions. He soon began performing with fellow blues enthusiasts Nick Gravenites and Elvin Bishop."
