Here's one you don't see everyday.  This is Jenkins build Harwood Concert acoustic made in the early 1900s.  There is some info out there about Harwood and the rarity so take a looksy.  As you can see this guy needs some TLC but is well worth the elbow grease and not too bad really.

CONDITION:
- The binding on the lower bout is about to pick off.  It is still intact but needs to be glued up.
+ The top is flat and not sunk nor proud bellied BUT...
- Has a few splits in the grain towards the bottom tail.
+ It looks like it was fixed up at least twice in its lifetime with two distinctly different Luthier skill levels - one good one poor.

+ The good repairs are the general cleanliness of the neck and tuners.  It looks like this Luthier replaced the bridge but never drilled through the string peg holes through the body.  Why? Scared? Who knows?  That's why there are no pegs and that leads to the other Luthier's work with the lesser than skill level.

- The lesser than Luthiers work is the addition of the Harmony Stella tailpiece which is fitting since the company later made Harmony guitars (something like that anyway). The Stella tailpiece that the installed bridge as the saddle.  Also, the spray-painted back. Since the back has splits in the grain they decided to paint over it with a light coat of brown paint.

- The bottom has delamination and lift in the back that leads to the split in the grain.
+ The Nut looks good and the Tuners as well
+ The stamps inside are visible and legible the New York stamp - that might help date it.
+ The neck setting seems to still be intact
+ Frets and board are good without dents
- The natural nonpainted finish was typical scuffs and road wear.
- Needs strings

Obviously, this is a project guitar to be sold as-is.  So just make a fair offer and you could be the one to do the work and take it to the next level.

FEATURES:
Spruce top and Rosewood sides according to other listings.
V-Shaped neck kind of like an old Ohau.
Characteristics of an old Martin
Scale: 24 5/8" or so

Serial Number:
18221 - have no idea if that dates it 1918 or 1922 or even 1920. If there is a database on Harwood serials lemme know.

PRICE: I realize the price is jacked up super high. Therefore, just make a fair offer and we'll go from there.
Sold as-is for restoration and/or parts.

UPDATE:
A month or so later
OK, I've had it for a month or so now and twiddle with it here and there.  I gave it a shot and jam on some blues riffs periodically.  It really sounds the part of the Era for sure.  The strings on it are new and very light so that blows it for purist sake.  However, the light gauge strings tuned at a D drop octive work with it.  The intonation is off for sure but not much more than an LG0 with the plastic bridge but it doesn't matter since the bridge will need to be replaced.  I noticed the holes of the one installed are off in relation to the saddle file slots.  I guess that's why the Stell tail was installed.  Also, I realize the Stella tail isn't a bad idea at all since it gives the top/bridge some relief from the potential bridge tension. It is an old bird after all so it has hindsight.  It might make do with a saddle.  Still a good real-sounding guitar of the period.  Might be good with a slide too.
