Up for sale, a 1990s Edwards by Navigator Ken Yokoyama signature model E-LP-95C electric guitar in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Founder of popular ‘90s Japanese punk rock outfit, Hi-Standard, Ken Yokoyama has been an influential guitarist for decades, with a wide assortment of ESP signature models to his name. A rare instrument made in Japan under Navigator/ESP's "Edwards" banner, this guitar was intended for sale exclusively within the Japanese domestic market. A streamlined iteration of the LP Custom "Black Beauty" platform, this Edwards features a long tenon joint, mahogany neck, bound rosewood fretboard, and stock pair of powerful humbuckers. Each pickup measures just over 11k ohms, with a powerful, punchy response. Lacking the traditional three-way toggle selector, a push/pull Tone pot selects between neck and bridge operation, with only one pickup engaged at a time. The neck humbucker has more low end chug, while the bridge pickup delivers midrange-centric growl and plenty of top end cut. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Edwards is strung with 10-46 strings and dialed in for low action and accurate intonation.

The mahogany neck has a medium C shape with modest shoulder, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .945" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearloid block inlay and stock slender fretwire. The frets have good height and meat, with light wear exclusively beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-10, and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays easily in every register, the neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The scale length is 24 3/4“, and the nut measures 1 11/16“ in width. The bound “open book” headstock features a split diamond inlay with “produced by Navigator” text on the volute (Navigator being another high-end ESP brand), and the stock set of gold Gotoh tuners turn smoothly and hold their pitch well.

The electronics work as they should, with individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup, and a push/pull pickup selector via the Rhythm Tone pot.  The gold hardware has plenty of shine with only light surface patina, and the ABR-1 style bridge features the retainer wire and “Made in Japan” text embossed on the base. Cosmetic wear is limited to light pick scuffing mostly on the treble side of the pick path, with scattered marks and scuffs on the body. The headstock shows light wear along the edges, with a bit of cloudiness in the finish around the split diamond inlay. The neck retains its smooth gloss finish with a few minor marks on the profile length which aren't distracting to the palm while fretting.

A gigbag is included.
