The MCS 682-6602 is a re-branded Technics for the JC Penny house brand MCS (Modular Component System). Technics specific high quality parts like the brush-less (super quiet) motor or the Technics S shaped tonearm with the universal mount can be found on this turntable.
It features a static balanced tonearm, 33 and 45 speed control with +- 10% variable speed and comes with what looks like a generic headshell with an Audio-Technica cartridge. It also features a neutral sounding acrylic composite plinth which assures a clean sound and no internal noise. It was designed to be an automatic turntable, but the table operates 100% manual and has a super soft cue (arm lift). The acrylic dust cover is intact without and cracks or breaks. Both hinges are intact and hold firm. Some cosmetic damage to the dust cover. Please see pictures.
