Slingerland May Bell Violin Craft Archtop Acoustic Guitar Style 82 Vintage 1936 Sunburst w Case

Here is a RARE acoustic archtop only made for a few years during the great depression in Chicago.

Slingerland offered several styles of the 'May Bell' archtop acoustic, this was Style 82, which carried an original retail price of $25 (and handsome sum during such economic times)

It featured solid construction, Solid mahogany Back and sides, and a Spruce top

This example shows some honest scratches and age, but no repairs done or needed.  

The action is nice n low, and can be brought lower if so desired.

The original Trap tailpiece with the slingerland logo is still accounted for as well

We did a quick shop setup and installed a fresh set of Monel wound acoustic strings (which would have been what they used at the time) and it plays and sounds excellent.

The original soft case is included, but in poor condition.
