About This Listing

This is a deep cut right here! I’m such a huge fan of Goya and Levin guitars from Sweden that I seek out all the weird ones they ever made in other European countries!

This guitar has some cool history. Goya in the 60’s and early 70’s was on fire. Still riding the coattails of being prominently featured as more or less the official guitar of The Sound of Music, demand for their instruments was higher than supply. They branched out and made versions of their guitars in Germany, Italy, and the former Yugoslavia. I’ve seen examples from all the different countries they made them in, they’re all cool and each have their own unique thing going on. If you dig Goya guitars, this weird offshoot they made in Yugoslavia is like a cool parallel universe to their Swedish guitar production.

As an instrument, this thing rips. Super cool and unique sound that would be great to record. I’ve heard people describe Goya as having an “AM radio sound,” super rich and sweet midrange that sits perfectly in a track. I’ve been in studios where Goyas have beaten out other vintage and newer super expensive guitars left and right. It’s a sound that when you hear it on playback the people in the control room stop and have a discussion about it, which is something to be said. It plays beautifully, has that phenomenal Goya feel to the neck that I love. It’s a super healthy guitar with a lot of songs in it. Condition is overall fantastic, there’s a few scratches here and there but definitely not bad for a 45-50 year old guitar!

Super killer instrument with a ton of cool history! It’s rare to find guitars from the former Yugoslavia, this one is super cool and beautiful instrument!
