1976 Left-Handed Fender Precision $3,333.33. I ordered in fall of 1975
from Roberts Piano in Lynchburg, Virginia and arrived spring of 1976. This bass has been my constant companion for 41 years, and has some dings and scratches here and there as you might expect.
Hand selected heart of alder body with white hard rock maple neck.
Customized in 1985 by Tony the Guitar Maker in Richmond, Virginia. To
include: Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pick ups (one pair later swapped
out for the now current DiMarzio Split P); Solid cast brass and heavily
chrome plated BadAssII bridge. The neck has been narrowed to 1 1/2" at
the custom stainless steel nut with Jazz bass string spacing. Vintage 7
1/4" neck radius.
Plays like buttah
Approximate weight is 11 pounds, so this isn't a bass for wimps. Complete with original Fender hard case as seen in photo. Selling due to poor heart health, and not put the burden of selling on my son after I am gone. NEW Lower Price! $2,222.22 FIRM! I'll Burn It First Before I Give It Away.
Notice of Full Disclosure There are no date markings on the butt end of the neck. Just a red magic marker stripe. That's all. There are no stamps or markings of any kind in the neck pocket. All leftys were made to order. You didn't grab a body off a stack of bodies on a pallet, or a neck off a stack of necks on a rack. It is my understanding that a single Fender employee would build each lefty start to finish just as the custom shop does today. If this bothers you, then don't buy. The setup is perfect on this Precision and I am not pulling it apart to show you a red stripe or a blank pocket. Also the pots were changed out in 1985 when the modifications were done so there are no pot codes to show you. Also I am not taking off these now famous GHS Precision Flats.
