A beautiful combination of European Spruce and East Indian Rosewood.
Condition: Used, Very Good
Blooming bass, direct mids and silky-smoth treble response, created by the combo of spruce top with bookmatched East Indian rosewood, set this nylon-string beauty apart. The mahogany neck is a shallow-D profile and fits right in the hand. A gorgeous vintage player's guitar.
SP Luthier Notes: Fret dress, buff, and setup
"The number 180 means that the guitar was made in January of 1980. It was named for Titi Amadeo, the maker of my teacher’s guitar....Hugh Geoghegan, who studied with Julian Bream. The back and sides are East Indian Rosewood, the neck is Mahogany, and the top is a four piece European spruce. I was self taught as a builder with none of the specialized tools available today.....but the joinery was solid and some of the guitars from this period sounded pretty good! The rosette is all natural, undyed wood. It is based on a mosaic from the floor of St. Sophia in Istanbul. Each row of the pattern is tapered so that it works into a circle and looks continuous."
