Jason started building guitars out of his garage in high school.  Although he went to college, finishing his Master's Degree in 1998, he always dreamed of building guitars.  After he met his then-future-wife Elizabeth in 2004, he started taking custom guitar orders while working as a hydrogeologist.  He and Elizabeth have been running Schroeder Guitars full time since 2007.  

Jason was part of the Premier Builders Guild from its inception in late 2009 and left the Guild in 2012.  He has built hundreds of guitars for his custom clients, which range from rock stars like Lindsey Buckingham and Zac Brown, to weekend warriors.  

Jason and Elizabeth Schroeder have resisted the numerous offers of investment and stakeholder opportunities in order to maintain 100% artistic control of the company.  They remain the sole proprietors of Schroeder Guitars and Schroeder Guitar Hardware.
